You saw how LegendFiction put out our first, 420-page real-life anthology of stories - 📕Dawn of LegendFiction. Now we’re doing it again (Not 420 pages, but a new anthology…)!

🎆 The first contest of 2024 has arrived: ‘There Be Dragons.’

Open to any faith-inspired, Catholic & Orthodox author anywhere! We’re a community for high school teens through to adults. (Questions about that? Check out how we keep teens safe and writing.)

Enter a short story related in any way to dragons as dangerous, exciting, or mystical beasts to win prizes.

• Top 3 winners and honorable mentions get published in an short fiction anthology, to be made available on Kindle, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and more - all to help you grow your publishing career!

• Top 3 winners get a free printed copy mailed to your door.

• All participants get a copy of the beautiful ebook

This anthology is reviewed and carefully designed by LegendFiction team volunteers, and we do it for free. All the income generated from sales of this anthology goes to three places:

1. To create prize monies for the next contest winning finalists

2. To pay the LegendFiction team members for their time in designing the anthology

3. To pay for LegendFiction software and maintenance costs

This is how we give back to the community so that we can all continue creating together!

📅 Dates, Details, & Deadlines

1. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 24th. Winners will be announced on Friday, May 31st.

2. Create your story as a Google Doc for easy feedback. Share a link to your contest entry here, inside LegendFiction.

3. Your short story submission should be around 3000 words. 

4. All genres welcome.

5. Ideally young adult fiction - not children’s stories, and no extremely mature content.

6. No fan fiction. Your creative world may be similar to your favorite series, but must have original content.

7. Contestants do not need to be paying members of LegendFiction, but you do need to create a free account to enter this contest.

8. All stories are subject to mentor review. We will select and review stories that best follow our content and contest guidelines.

9. All participants will be notified about the contest finalists through the LegendFiction community. Judges’ decisions are final.

10. We read all submissions ‘anonymously,’ meaning name, membership status, and past expertise does not influence our decision on the merit of your entry.
